The Power of Intention

“You are what your deepest desire is.
As your desire is, so is your intention.
As your intention is, so is your will.
As your will is, so is your deed.
As your deed is, so is your destiny.”
~ Upanishads

Intention is the starting point of every spiritual path. It is the force that fulfills all of our needs, whether for money, relationships, spiritual awakening, or love. Intention generates all the activities in the universe. Everything that we can see – and even the things we cannot – are an expression of intention’s infinite organizing power.

As the ancient Indian sages observed thousands of years ago, our destiny is shaped by the deepest level of our intention and desire. Once we plant the seed of an intention in the fertile ground of pure potentiality, our soul’s journey unfolds automatically, as naturally as a bulb becomes a tulip or an embryo becomes a child. With this issue of Namasté, we invite you to explore the power of intention and harness it for deeper fulfillment.

Detox Your Body With Routine Cleansing

I wanted to take a moment to recommend some great books to read on cleansing the body. You
will find that they emphasize a shift toward more organic food choices, increased water intake, a
reduction of processed and fast foods, and weight loss. If you heal the body and treat it well, it will
  take care of itself.

Here are some of my personal favorites:

  1) The Master Cleanser by Stanley Burroughs

  2) Detox: Five Dozen Ways to Detoxify Your Body by Nadine Goodman

  3) The Colon Health Handbook by Robert Gray

  4) The Raw Food Detox Diet by Natalia Rose

  5) 21 Pounds in 21 Days: The Martha's Vineyard Diet Detox by Roni DeLuz, RN, ND

  6) Juicing for Life by Cherie Calbom and Maureen Keane

In my opinion, all of these books give great information on how the human body works as well as
how to undo years of damage while improving overall health. The most comprehensive plan is the
Martha's Vineyard Diet Detox. It addresses all major systems and focuses on cleansing and nutrition.
You can do her plan for 2 days (over a weekend), 7 days, or the full 21 days and get real results.

The key to any detox program is to maintain a cleaner diet. When you revert to your old ways, your
old ailments will return. Make the decision to do something to improve and prolong your life today...

Supporting a Healthy Thyroid

Your thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland located at the base of your neck, just below your Adam's apple. Although it weighs less than an ounce, the thyroid gland has an enormous effect on your health. All aspects of your metabolism, from the rate at which your heart beats to how quickly you burn calories, are regulated by thyroid hormones.

News From Johns Hopkins!

After years of telling people chemotherapy is the only way to try and eliminate cancer, Johns Hopkins is finally starting to tell you there is an alternative way...

    1) Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their body after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

    2) Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.

    3) When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed   and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

What Is Breast Cancer?

Breast cancer is a malignant (cancerous) tumor that starts from cells of the breast. The disease occurs mostly in women, but men can get breast cancer too. The information here refers only to breast cancer in women. There is separate information about breast cancer in men available in the American Cancer Society's document, Breast Cancer in Men.

Normal Breast Structure

In order to understand breast cancer, it is helpful to have some basic knowledge about the normal structure of the breasts, as shown in the picture below.

A woman’s breast is made up of glands that make breast milk (lobules), ducts (small tubes that carry milk from the lobules to the nipple), fatty and connective tissue, blood vessels, and lymph (pronounced limf) vessels. Most breast cancers begin in the cells that line the ducts (ductal cancer), some begin in the lobules (lobular cancer), and the rest in other tissues.
